Sanivite not working/activating.

If your Sanivite is not working check the power supply, check the circuit breakers are all on, check the machine is plugged in and switched on, check the power supply is working get a lamp and try it in the same socket if the socket is ok then either the internal Sanivite microswitch is broken, the Sanivite membrane is broken, the Sanivite Capacitor these parts can be replaced and found on our website, or worst case scenario the motor has failed this part cannot be replaced, this may normally be the case if the pump is over 8 years old you can take the pump apart to check all the parts.

Sanivite is humming/buzzing

The pump capacitor may have failed, this part can be replaced we have this part on our website, the motor is jammed by a foreign object, worst case scenario the motor has failed. Take the pump out of the box and check the pump impeller turns freely by hand if it does the capacitor has probably failed if the pump is 5-10 years old. Easy way to test press the plastic paddle to make the motor hum then with a large screwdriver flick the blade in the direction it wished to turn it it start spinning fast the capacitor needs replacing. this action is dangerous please carry out this work with safety gloves and googles if your not sure get a competent person to do it.

Sanivite is running continuously

Either the microswitch is broken and stuck on, the membrane is defective or has shrunk and is not allowing the machine to turn off or there is an obstruction blocking the exist pipe or the waste outlet pipe. We recommend changing the microswitch and the membrane for start stop problems as these are the only two parts that control the machine. Top Tip: If you have some outside space test the machine with a hosepipe after fitting parts to make sure the machine works properly, let it run for 3-5 minute to make sure its operating properly.

Sanivite vibrating or shuddering

You will have to inspect the inside of the box it’s probably filled with fat, grease or congealed washing powder or dishwasher tablet powder and will need to be cleaned out by hand or for best results use a power washer. If using a power was he make sure the pump is upside down so water doesn’t not go inside of the electrics.

Sanivite smelling emitting bad odours

If your pump is smelly you will have to take it apart to clean it out this operation has to be don by hand there are no chemicals to the best of our knowledge that will dissolve fatbergs inside of a Sanivite, also if your Sanivite is used for just a washing machine over time the washing power or liquid does eventually start to smell like sewage. This will have to be cleaned out by hand with a stiff brush or a power washer if you have one. If using a power was he make sure the pump is upside down so water doesn’t not go inside of the electrics.

Sanivite running intermittently

If your pump is running intermittently at the same time intervals its most likely a leaking Sanivite Non return valve. take the existing valve out and check the rubber seal for debris or sometimes materials from washing machines can get caught around the rubber flap. This problem will only occur if the waste outlet pipe is running vertical up the wall.
