Saniflo Micro Switch

If your Saniflo has intermittent stop start problems you most probably need a new microswitch or float switch.

Does your Saniflo Macerator take time to switch on or off or not at all?

It may need a new Saniflo microswitch or float switch as they are commonly known. The switch is located inside the control box that is attached to the Saniflo motor.

You will find that the existing saniflo macerator micro switch has become to stiff to operate or does not click anymore, opening and closing the circuit leaving the motor in the on or constantly running position.

Once you have changed the switch for a new one you will notice a vast improvement on your existing switch, the macerator will switch on and off almost immediately.

Our microswitches must be used as they have the correct pressure setting for your Saniflo. if you do not use the right switch it could result in your saniflo not switching on early enough causing back ups in showers and baths. We strongly recommend changing the membrane at the same time as the microswitch if yours looks damaged, seems stiff, or has limescale on as it will affect performance. When changing the two together you will notice a vast improvement.

We can provide you with a new switch within a couple of days.

How does a Saniflo Micro Switch Work?

The pressure switch is a small, integral component found within a Saniflo macerating toilet system, which is designed to manage and dispose of wastewater from a bathroom or other sanitary appliances. The micro switch plays a crucial role in activating the macerator pump, ensuring efficient operation of the system.

When wastewater enters the macerator unit, a pressure chamber, equipped with a floating membrane, senses the rising water level. As the water level increases, the floating membrane moves upwards and actuates the micro switch. The micro switch, in turn, triggers the macerator motor to start and activates the cutting blades and impeller, which work in unison to break down waste and pump it through the discharge pipe.

Once the wastewater has been sufficiently processed and evacuated from the unit, the water level inside the pressure chamber decreases, causing the floating membrane to lower. As it lowers, it deactivates the micro switch, stopping the macerator motor and turning off the system. This cycle is repeated each time wastewater enters the macerator, ensuring efficient disposal and preventing blockages.
